He is currently on the volunteer faculty as clinical assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Jefferson Medical College and holds hospital appointments at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Paoli Hospital, BrynMawr Hospital, and the Reading Hospital.
Dr. Sobel has written peer-reviewed scientific works in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology and presented lectures and abstracts at national conferences. His interests and areas of expertise include the treatment of infertile couples utilizing all forms of assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, as well as laser laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical procedures. He serves as ad hoc reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Sobel is active in a variety of international, national, and local medical societies including the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Endocrine Society, Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society.
